Thoroughbreds are “hot blooded” horses, and best known for horse racing. Thoroughbreds are elegant and beautiful horses and possess the qualities of speed, spirit and agility. Aside from racing, thoroughbreds are also used for other riding disciplines such as fox hunting, polo, dressage, combined training, and show jumping. Thoroughbreds are also commonly crossbred to improve existing breeds or to create new breeds.
How to Choose Thoroughbred Horses for Sale
Look at the horse’s body. The horse should stand between 14.2 and 17.3 hands. Most thoroughbreds will come in colors that are solid such as grey, chestnut and bay. You should have a feel of power from the horse as you look at its athletic body and stance. The body should be lean and long, with flat muscles, sloping shoulders and long legs, with the hind quarters being tremendously muscled.
The head of the horse will be somewhat long and refined. The eyes should be sharp and alert, and the coat, a beautiful coat of fine hair and the skin of the animal sensitive. The ears of the animal will be curved and neither to short nor too long.
Remember, that the thoroughbred is not a horse for beginners, as typically, it is very spirited with a bold temperament.
Stallions for Sale: The Stud of Studs
Before making a decision on stallions for sale, but before making any decisions it is necessary to have the correct information about them.
Understanding a stallion’s characteristics is very necessary to purchase the most stud horses from the market. Its major distinction from mares and geldings is that it has a thicker neck. The body structure difference is also very prominent; the stallions have a more muscular build when compared with others.
Some people can tell about a horse’s gender just by looking at its temperament. Stallions have an aggressive temperament due to the hormonal distinction; this behavior is because of the diversity in the surges of testosterones. This dissimilarity also makes them adapt sex-driven dominance attributes as well.
Stallions have ego issues, thus resulting in a competitive behavior with the other horses; the mares and the geldings. They may be chosen for show jumping but if a new rider is buying one to ride it than he should not make the mistake as they lack the information of handling them properly.
It is best to shop online for them as there are competitive quotes in the market, which helps in finding the best possible deal out there.
