Australian Brumbys

The Australian Brumby is an incredibly fascinating horse.  They are horses of great beauty, and of controversy in Australia.  Often found outside of Australia, the Australian Brumby is domesticated in these countries.  In Australia, however, the Australian Brumby is a wild horse.  Sometimes mustered for use as work or pleasure horses, Australian Brumbies are a regular sight near highways and national parks.  The Australian Brumby is believed to be a wild horse breed originating from European ships coming to trade and/or settle centuries ago.  While the Australian Brumby is traditionally a wild horse, they are infrequently available outside Australia as domesticated horses.
